I’m a big fan of presidential trivia, and I was wondering if you could help me out with this one. Which president is the only one to have had his grandmother outlive him?

Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961 to Barack Obama Sr and Ann Dunham. His grandmother Marian Shields Robinson lived until age 92 and died in July 1995.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

• His grandmother Ida Elizabeth Stover Eisenhower lived until age 92, dying in 1967.

William Howard Taft

James Garfield

James Abram Garfield was the 20th President of the United States. He served from March 4, 1881 until his death on September 19, 1881. His grandmother Catherine McClure died on January 23, 1883 at the age of 100 years old!

James Garfield was born in Orange Township, Ohio on November 19, 1831 to a family who had deep roots in America going back to colonial days. His father died when he was two years old leaving him and his mother with little money; however she taught her children how important it was for them all to get an education so they could make something better out of themselves than what they already had been given by life itself which wasn’t much at all since they didn’t know where their next meal would come from if not for help provided by others who were willing share what little resources they had with struggling families like ours during those times.

Grover Cleveland

Grover Cleveland was the only president whose grandmother lived to see him become president. His grandmother, Sarah Maria Cudworth, was born in 1809 and died in 1892 at the age of 83. She was the daughter of a Congregationalist minister who preached against slavery and supported women’s rights.

Grover Cleveland’s father Richard Falley Cleveland was also born into an anti-slavery family; his father worked as an abolitionist lawyer before becoming governor of New Jersey and mayor of Buffalo, New York (where Grover himself would eventually be elected mayor).

John Quincy Adams was born on July 11, 1767 in Braintree, Massachusetts. He was the sixth President of the United States and a member of one of America’s most distinguished families. His father was John Adams and his mother was Abigail Smith Adams (granddaughter of John Alden).

John Quincy Adams married Louisa Catherine Johnson in 1797; they had six children together before she died from cancer at age 33. In 1828 he remarried to Caroline Lee Scott Monroe (another president’s wife), who outlived him by 19 years until 1875 when she passed away at age 78!

His grandmother Marian Shields Robinson lived until age 92.

His grandmother Marian Shields Robinson lived until age 92 and was born in the year 1876, making her birth year almost 50 years before his presidency began. She was born in Illinois as well, but not just any town: Princeton!
