    Rajinikanth is an Indian actor who has appeared in over 150 films, predominantly in Tamil cinema. He began his career as a bus conductor before going on to work in various other jobs such as construction worker and carpenter. Rajinikanth made his acting debut with the 1975 Tamil film Apoorva Raagangal, directed by K. Balachander, in which he played a supporting role.
