Introduction

Mechanical engineers work in many different fields. Some of these jobs are at manufacturing plants, where they build machines and other types of mechanical equipment. Other jobs are in research, testing and development labs or with companies that design products (like computers).

Assistant Manager (Mechanical)

Assistant managers are responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production workers and engineers. They also provide technical assistance to the production department in order to improve efficiency and quality. They may also be required to give lectures on various topics related to mechanical engineering at colleges or universities.

Qualification Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institution with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade point average (GPA). The candidate should have cleared NET/GATE exams conducted by CSIR/UGC/ICMR etc., or any other recruitment examination conducted by government authorities like UPSC, SSC etc., with minimum 70% marks or equivalent grade point average (GPA).

Assistant Manager (Electrical & Electronics)

Assistant managers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company’s electrical and electronics department. They must have a thorough understanding of the products being manufactured by the company, as well as an ability to plan, organize and direct their staff members.

Education requirements: A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is generally required for this position. An associate’s degree may be sufficient with previous experience in this field; however, candidates should check with potential employers before applying.

Salary range: The median annual salary for assistant managers was $89,470 in May 2017 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Assistant Manager (E&E)

As the name suggests, an assistant manager’s job is to assist higher-level managers with their tasks. This can include anything from helping them manage projects, overseeing the work of other employees, or even conducting research on behalf of executives. In general, they must be knowledgeable in all aspects of their field–including technology and business strategy–and have excellent communication skills so that they can relay information back up through the chain of command in an effective manner.

Assistant managers typically work long hours and weekends are not uncommon; however, compensation varies greatly depending on location as well as industry type and size. A starting salary for an entry-level position may fall anywhere between $40K-$50K annually; however this figure could easily increase by 50% after several years’ experience working within a particular industry sector such as finance or healthcare administration (depending upon whether you want your career path focused around sales).

Qualifications: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 1 year experience in a similar position. Should have knowledge of tool room operations and be proficient in MS Office applications. Salary range: Rs 15000 – 20000 per month.
